(Zelda)
For the a Zelda contest at "the History of hyrule".

The crafting of the goddess sword.
Above Fi is Hylia. And I like to think the blacksmith is some sort of ancestor to the king of Hyrule. And of course the two sages of earth and wind (mentioned in wind waker), hmm. Maybe they are skyward and earth sage in this time?. Whatever, 2 sages at least..

Really wonderful artwork. Nice idea how you imagined the crafting :) Great work on details like the two sages in the foreground and especially Fi and Hylia above the smith. The lighting is well done and creates a fitting atmosphere. Incredible work.

This is so beautiful, I love the composition, the color choice. Everything fits perfectly together. Fis spirit appearing partially really gives the feeling of being at the moment itself. All the details, I like especially the sparks. Colorwise I like a lot how the warm and cold colors are used contrasting each oher making parts of the picture stand out.

Ooo, yes! This presents new ideas! The Skyview and Earth Temples of SS are located at opposite ends of the map, like the Wind and Earth Temples of WW!
(goes to look it up) Oh damn, though, they've seemed to have switched elements over the course of the centuries... oh well. Still! Having the sages of those temples help forge the sword is an awesome thought, and a neat way to tie the series back together.
I love the soft look of the piece, and your Hylia is gorgeous!! Your blacksmith (which you said you modeled after the King) also reminds me of Link's grandfather-blacksmith in Minish Cap.
Overall, fantastic! Good luck in the contest!

Oh yes, The location of the temples did made me wonder too. But then I realized that zelda series is kinda weird when it comes to location it seem, like how the temple of time seem to change places from oot, tp and ss- Zelda temples have legs and wanders place to place it seem?.
Oh yeah I almost forgot about links grandfather, and he's even a blacksmith! XD.

I believe the game strongly suggest that Fi was added to the Master Sword long after it was forged. It was one of the games numerous narrative ruining elements.

Actually before the master sword. Since it starts out as the goddess sword ;).

The Master Sword is the original form and Fi was implanted into it when Hylia sealed it away. That's a narrative ruiner because we're supposed to pick up on Ghirahim's true nature from the similarities that he share's with Fi but it doesn't work because she wasn't originally part of the sword to begin with.
